"We are passionate about preserving manual knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation. Our jewelers and artisans from the city of Medellin focus their talent in the details of each piece, making them the means through which women enhance their beauty and uniqueness".
Andrea Muñóz is a Colombian product design engineer passionate about manual arts, traditional crafts of jewelry and artisan weaving. Her label spotlights local artisans to ensure that their creations endure in an accelerated and technological world.
Her ready-to-wear pieces come in an array of striking silhouettes and hand-woven fabrics, and pay homage to her country’s rich history of craftsmanship and design.

With each collection she seeks to understand a context, create a story and communicate it through functional and aesthetic designs.
Her work can be characterized by their unexpected, sculptural designs in gold-plated bronze and other natural complementary materials such as fabric made with waxed polyester thread, a fiber that produces zero carbon emissions in the cultivation phase.

Mawii seeks to contribute and support an environmental cause with each collection as a way to give back to the earth a small part of everything it gives us.
"We value the work of jewelers and artisans in a fair way, and we include good practices for the reduction of waste in the jewelry making processes".
The collections of this distinguished brand are deeply personal and reflective, with each one directly connected to a specific stage in the designer's life. In 2023, the theme revolved around wellness, drawing inspiration from the interconnected realms of the body, mind, and spirit.

Staying true to the brand’s roots and origins, every collection consistently sources its inspiration from the natural world. This approach ensures that the designs are not merely fashion pieces but narratives of growth and transformation, deeply grounded in an appreciation for nature’s beauty and wisdom.

This brand offers timeless pieces that encapsulate the essence of well-being, inviting wearers to join a journey that celebrates both personal evolution and the natural environment.
EDITOR'S NOTE
​They say it's easy to actually fall in love with Colombia. I thought it was an overstatement, but I had no idea how accurate this was until I randomly found Mawii during my trip to the country.
​
It happened like not many things in life do. We clicked right away.
​
